Memorial or bereavement quilts can help the healing process. The focus of such a quilt is to honor the person for whom the quilt is dedicated while comforting the grieving. The quilt celebrates the life of the loved one and can become a treasured heirloom, but it is also something tangible to hold, to love, to cherish and to display.

For the purpose of organization, on this website I am separating bereavement quilts made to comfort the grieving from memory quilts made for the living.  The boxes at the side show the various subgroups of each main group.

Under each main heading – Bereavement or Memory – I show examples of quilts I have made along with some of the stories and explanations that go with the quilts. It will give you some idea of how I work and what quilts I have made and hopefully spark some ideas of your own.

Design Process

Your quilt will be customized to your needs and requirements.  I will work closely with you to choose the appropriate design for your unique quilt, whether it be in traditional, contemporary, or pictorial.
